His Highness Shaikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al
Nahyan, Chairman of the Court of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, and
Chairman of the Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic
Zones gave the starting signal for the First GCC Skills
Competitions.
His Highness
witnessed the opening ceremony organized by the
Institute
of Applied Technology
in Al Ain in collaboration with Emirates Skills
Organization.
The competitions will last
for three days under the auspices of His Highness General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince
and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
H.H. Shaikh Hamed bin Zayed expressed his
happiness for hosting the first competition in the
United Arab Emirates, and
wished all contestants and experts good luck.
The activities commence this morning with
the participation of 26 male and female students from
Technical and Vocational colleges and institutes in the GCC
countries supervised by 24 international experts and 12 GCC
experts.
The contestants will compete in seven
skills, they are: Information Technology, Welding, Web
Design, Electrical Installations, Automobile Technology,
Refrigeration, and Graphic Design.
